Happy Resident in Woodshop

A Hidden Gem: The Wesley Bradley Park Woodshop

Many people are surprised to discover one of Wesley Bradley Park’s hidden gems – our incredible Woodshop!

Tucked away on campus, this workshop is stocked with nearly every tool and machine a woodworker could hope for. Over the years it has become a place where residents gather, share skills, and turn simple pieces of wood into beautiful and meaningful creations. From handcrafted pepper mills and stunning wooden bowls to deeply personal items like memorial urns for loved ones, the projects that come out of this shop often carry special stories with them.

One of the most unique traditions connected to the shop is the Wesley Bradley Park Yacht Club, where residents have built their very own wooden yachts to sail on nearby Bradley Lake, just a short walk from campus through the park. Watching these handmade boats glide across the water is a special sight and a tradition that many residents and other local community members love.

The Bradley Park woodshop crew is always happy to welcome new faces and they hope that many future neighbors will come down and join in the fun when they move in. Whether you’re an experienced woodworker or simply curious to learn, it’s a wonderful place to spend time and make something special.

With support from the Wesley Community Foundation, the shop also features a high-quality air filtration system to keep the space comfortable and safe for everyone.

If you happen to be downsizing and have woodworking tools you may want to pass along, feel free to reach out to Joan or Nicole for information about who you can connect with to chat all things woodshop.

The residents who gather there today hope the shop continues to be a place where creativity, craftsmanship, and friendships are built for many years to come.
