Wesley Homes is building on its long-standing tradition of delivering excellent service to older adults. On Thursday, April 7, 2016, over 100 residents, staff and guests celebrated the grand opening of the Wesley Homes Lea Hill Rehabilitation and Care Center, designed to promote the dignity and privacy of those it serves.
Executive Director Scott Hulet opened the event with warm introductory remarks and proudly introduced the center as an incredibly important addition to the Lea Hill campus and Wesley Homes. President and CEO Kevin Anderson spoke about the laborious process and the amazing journey it took to get the center up and running. He thanked everyone involved, from the staff and construction teams to the residents. Auburn Mayor Nancy Backus and Lea Hill Campaign Co-chair Helena Hanna were given the honor of cutting the ribbon and officially opening the center. Also in attendance was Auburn’s former mayor and current Wesley Homes resident Chuck Booth. Attendance was high and guests were delighted to tour the new center to see the promise and vision of Wesley Homes moving forward.
“The Rehabilitation & Care Center reflects our belief that comfort is an important part of the healing process,” said Hulet. “It’s a key component of our holistic care practice to expedite the healing of our guests and reduce hospital readmissions. Whether our guests join us after an illness, a joint replacement or other surgery, their comfort is a part of their treatment.”
The new building provides a rehabilitation and skilled nursing center comprised of 34 private suites and one semi-private suite to serve older adults in South King County. The first step to changing service delivery and raising the bar for seniors is a modern architectural design that highlights personal care. Each guest is treated with respect in a clean, tranquil environment featuring large, private suites where family and friends are welcome anytime. This plan of care nurtures the mind and heals the body in order to give guests the best chance to regain their independence. This all-inclusive style of rehabilitation is designed to combine first-class treatment, superb amenities and guest-focused hospitality. While currently private pay only, the Lea Hill Rehabilitation & Care Center is in the process of acquiring licensure by the State of Washington to be Medicare & Medicaid Certified later in the year.
At Wesley Homes, we believe everyone deserves a quiet place to restore their mind and body while working hard on their recovery. The Lea Hill Rehabilitation & Care Center provides an environment of restorative treatments to help guests regain their strength and resume their lifestyle. Our integrated recovery programs are administered by our compassionate, skilled RNs, LPNs and Nursing Assistants under the supervision of an individual’s physician. All care and treatment plans are developed in conjunction with physicians, pharmacists and clinicians. When guests are ready to go home, we facilitate a smooth transition to the activities and lifestyle they enjoy or to home health if additional care is needed.
