The fall season brings changing leaves and Pastor Appreciation Month.
The month of October brought Pastor Appreciation Month. This recognition is also known as Clergy Appreciation Month. Despite popular belief that greeting card companies created the holiday, it is thought to have stemmed from 1 Timothy 5:17, which states, “The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.”
Clergy Appreciation Month is important because these men and women give their time and energy to the greater community and often work long hours.
Wesley Homes reached out to its ministry partners with a Pastor Appreciation Breakfast dedicated to clergy members and their hard work in the community.
Pastors and clergy in the greater community gathered for a hot breakfast to hear updates on what will happen at Wesley Homes in coming years, including the construction of Wesley Homes Bradley Park in Puyallup, the new Wesley Homes Lea Hill Rehabilitation and Care Center and the redevelopment of The Terrace lobby and the south side of the Wesley Homes Des Moines campus.
