Big Things Are Taking Shape at Wesley

Wesley Des Moines – Creekside

We anticipate starting construction on Creekside in April/May 2026 with a completion date near the end of 2027. Apartment reservations are expected to begin on or about May 1, 2026. This is approximately a month later than we originally anticipated. However, it gives us the necessary time to confirm that financing is in place, permits have been issued, construction is starting and marketing materials – including floor plans and pricing – are ready to go.

Creekside is a new independent living apartment building planned on the northeast corner of the campus. This is the former location of the care center.  There will be four floors of spacious apartments over a level of enclosed parking, a top-floor club room and exciting new outdoor amenities. This new lifestyle choice will be similar to Wesley’s Brownstone accommodations.

Apartments range from 800 to 1,800 square feet. Floor plan selections include One Bedroom, One Bedroom plus Den/Sunroom, Two Bedroom and Two Bedroom plus Den/Sunroom arrangements. Some apartments have a convenient half bath for guests while others feature wrap-around or double decks to enjoy time outside.

Early depositors will have options for upgrades. These include flooring, countertops, window coverings and appliances. Keep an eye out for your invitation to an upcoming information session in your inbox toward the end of April. Des Moines Captain’s Club members will have priority to reserve these apartments according to their deposit date.

Wesley Des Moines – The Terrace Renovation

From updates to the apartment corridors to the transformation of the first floor dining and auditorium space, renovation work in The Terrace is well underway.  When finished, The Terrace will be home to the Julia C. Moser Performing Arts Center, a new modern dining room and enhanced bistro. These new amenities will also be easily accessible to Creekside residents via a covered walkway.

The apartment corridors are also getting modern updates including new trim work, paint, carpet, artwork and lighting. Level 2 was the first to be completed. Levels 1 and 6 are well underway with Levels 3, 4, 5 and the leisure level to follow. Rumor has it the Wesley Community Foundation is spearheading exciting renovations of the spa area on the leisure level with a special décor theme.

Wesley Bradley Park in Puyallup – East Brownstone & Care Center

With three stories over parking and more than double the number of apartments in the West Brownstone, the East Brownstone is visually impressive. It is exciting to see the stone siding and apartment balconies that are in progress outside. Inside, work is happening from the top floor down. Gypcrete and painting are moving to the lower floors, and cabinets started going in on south Level 3 last week.

Over 60% of the East Brownstone apartments are reserved. With the rest of the campus running at full occupancy, it’s important to reserve your East Brownstone apartment today. Reserving now gives you a clearer move-in timeline and more time to plan with confidence. The East Brownstone is projected to be move-in ready by November 2026.

The Barndt Family Rehabilitation & Care Center is scheduled for completion in 2027, a bit later than originally scheduled due to permit delays. We will see construction on the new spa pavilion happening this month but there is a lot to do to finish the concrete and foundation on the building. Our construction team expects we’ll see framing begin in May.

Wesley Spring Glen Update

We continue to work with our developer, architect and contractor to progress this significant Wesley project. Our team has been working on the March 2 resubmittal to address the latest comments received from King County. Due to additional information requested by the county last week, the resubmittal has been further delayed. As we continue to work through this process with county staff, we are still hopeful that a building permit will be issued before mid-year. We have been assured by our contacts at King County that they are “eager to see this project reach the finish line and to help set it up for as smooth a construction process as possible.”

In addition to the building permit, Wesley is also working with the architect, Walsh Construction and our lenders for financing toward a construction start in spring 2027 with the hope of completion by the end of 2029.

We anticipate starting apartment reservations in early 2027. Those who are interested in being on the priority reservation list, are invited to contact us for more information.
