A Special Graduation Ceremony at Lea Hill

Many high school graduates have had their graduation ceremonies cancelled due to the coronavirus, but the residents and staff of Wesley Lea Hill wanted to do something special for the 11 high school graduating seniors who are employed at Lea Hill.

The residents of Wesley Lea Hill, Life Enrichment Director Marlene Feliciano, Alex Flores and Jacob Martin in Culinary put together a wonderfully memorable celebration for their young graduates. Resident Sue Carson played “Pomp and Circumstance” as the graduates entered Eby Lodge in their caps and gowns, setting the mood for this event.

The residents spent the week creating handmade signs to post and hold up as they cheered for our graduates as they marched through the halls. The Lodge residents stood at their doors with flowers, cards and individual goodie bags to hand to “the kids” as they paraded by. The rain didn’t stop the parade. Our Wesley Class of 2020 graduates boarded the Wesley bus and traveled across campus to see our Village Home and Brownstone residents. all of whom were waiting to wave and blow their horns while under their umbrellas. The graduates were very appreciative of all the work that went into planning this activity just for them.
